Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred and ninety-ninth day of large-scale armed aggression by the russian federation against Ukraine continues.

Tonight, the russian occupying forces attacked the territory of Ukraine with iranian attack drones of the “Shahed” type. Units of anti-aircraft missile forces, fighter aircraft and mobile fire groups of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 12 out of 18 attack UAVs.

In addition, the enemy launched a missile attack on the territory of one of the Zaporozhye infrastructure facilities. He also carried out 42 airstrikes, carried out about 30 attacks from MLRS systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, civilian infrastructure was destroyed and civilians suffered.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions, heavy battles are ongoing. About 20 combat clashes took place during the day.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

The enemy maintains a military presence in the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions. During the day, he carried out an airstrike in the area of Vilshana, Kharkiv region. He carried out mortar and artillery attacks on more than 15 settlements, in particular Popivka, Chernihiv region; Krasnopillya of Sumy Oblast and Okip, Neskuchne, Vovchansk, Budarky and Rublene in Kharkiv Oblast.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy tried to advance in the Novoselyvskyi and Stelmakhivka districts of the Luhansk region. Our soldiers are firmly on the defensive, repelling all enemy attacks. Kolodyazne, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masyutivka, Kupyansk and Kislivka of the Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted assaults during the day and tried to dislodge our troops from their occupied positions in the area northwest of Berestovo, Luhansk region, without success. Carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bilogorivka in the Luhansk region and Spirnyi in the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, in particular, Nevske, Belogorivka of the Luhansk region, and Vesele, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery fire.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bohdanivka, Oleksandro-Shultine, Bila Gora, and Severnye settlements. More than 15 settlements, including Vasyukivka, Markove, Bogdanivka, Khromov, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Oleksandro-Shultyne and Pivdenne of the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the districts of Novokalynovo, Avdiivka, and Nevelsky, Donetsk region. At the same time, the enemy carried out artillery fire on more than
15 settlements, in particular, Keramik, Zhelane, Avdiivka, Severne, Karlivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske of the Donetsk region were affected.

In the Marinka direction, under enemy artillery fire, our defenders repelled all attacks in the area of the city of Marinka. The enemy launched an airstrike near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region. Shelled the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Pobyeda in the Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsky direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Blagodatny district of the Donetsk region. Made an air strike near Velika Novosilka. Shelled more than 15 settlements, including Novomykhailivka, Elizavetivka, Bogoyavlenka, Vugledar, Zolota Niva, and Severne in the Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the further advance of our troops. Conducted artillery shelling of more than 20 settlements, including Novodarivka, Levadne, Malynyvka, Gulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Zaporizhzhia regions; Lviv, Tokarivka, Antonivka, Veletenske, Kizomys of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson. At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, are entrenched at the reached boundaries, inflict fire damage from artillery on identified enemy targets, and carry out counter-battery countermeasures.

Against the background of the successful combat operations of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and due to the significant losses of the enemy in manpower, the number of refusals to participate in combat operations increased in the units of the russian occupation forces. For example, in the area of the village of Rozivka in the Zaporizhzhia region, about 20 russian soldiers refused to carry out combat missions in forward positions. After that, they were taken into custody and moved to the building of the Roziv district court.

During the day, the aviation of the defense forces made 6 strikes on enemy personnel concentration areas, 2 on anti-aircraft missile complexes and 1 on the enemy’s control point. Also, our defenders destroyed 2 operational-tactical reconnaissance UAVs.

Subdivisions of missile troops and artillery during the day hit the control post, 7 artillery pieces in firing positions and the enemy’s electronic warfare station.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
