Ukraine General Staff: 510 Russian troops killed in 24 hour period

Glory to Ukraine! The five hundred and fourth day of large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against our state continues.

During the day, the russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with Iranian-made attack drones of the “Shahed” type. A total of 15 kamikaze drones were involved in the strike. As a result of the successful combat work of anti-aircraft missile units, fighter aircraft, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and air defense of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, 11 attack UAVs were destroyed. Also, the enemy carried out 59 airstrikes and fired 40 MLRS fire systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded civilians, including children, residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, heavy battles continue. During the day, 22 combat clashes took place.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

The enemy maintains a military presence in the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions. During the day, he carried out mortar and artillery attacks on more than 10 settlements, in particular, Huta-Studenetska of the Chernihiv region; Vyntorivka, Manukhivka of the Sumy region and Vidrodenivske, Izbytske, Zemlyanka of the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, our soldiers are firmly holding the defense. The enemy launched an airstrike in the Kislivka region of the Kharkiv region. Figolivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupyansk, Kislivka of the Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

On the Lyman direction, during the day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the Novoselyvskyi area of the Luhansk region. Carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bilogorivka, Luhansk Region, and Spirnyi, Vesely, and Rozdolivka, Donetsk Region. More than 10 settlements, including Nevske, Belogorivka of the Luhansk region, and Torske, Spirne, Berestov, and Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery fire.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the Stupochka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Dilyivka districts of the Donetsk region. More than 15 settlements, including Lyman, Bohdanivka, Khromov, Ivanivske and Toretsk of the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, under heavy fire from the enemy’s aircraft and artillery, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by russian troops in the Avdiivka area. The enemy launched an airstrike in the Panteleimonivka area of the Donetsk region. At the same time, the enemy fired artillery at more than 15 settlements, including Berdychi, Avdiivka, Vesele, Vodyane, and Zhelane Pershe of the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the advance of russian troops in the Maryinka area. The adversary carried out an airstrike in the Krasnohorivka area. Shelled more than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Georgiivka, Maksimilianivka, and Katerynivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarske direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Zolota Niva, Makarivka, and Rivnopol and shelled the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Vugledar, Novoukrainka, Prechistivka, Zolota Niva, and Velika Novosilka of the Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the further advance of our troops. Conducted artillery shelling of more than 20 settlements, including Temyrivka, Novodarivka, Chervone, Gulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Orihiv of the Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region; Beryslav, Vesele, Antonivka, Bilozerka of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson. At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, carry out counter-battery countermeasures.

In the temporarily occupied Berdyansk of the Zaporizhzhia region, as a result of a direct hit on the Duna hotel, during the night, it was recorded that the bodies of russian servicemen were being taken by trucks to the local morgue.

The enemy intensified counterintelligence measures in the temporarily captured Mariupol of the Donetsk region. Occupiers carry out mass raids on houses and apartments of local residents, check personal documents and mobile devices. In this way, the occupiers are trying to intimidate the local population and identify those who help the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces made 6 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the enemy and 2 – on the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile complexes.

During the day, units of missile forces and artillery hit 1 control post, 16 artillery pieces in firing positions, 4 anti-aircraft missile systems and 2 enemy electronic warfare stations.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
