Ukraine General Staff: 620 Russian troops killed in 24 hours

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.22 to 03.08.23 were approximately:

  • personnel ‒ about 247850 (+620), 
  • tanks ‒ 4224 (+7), 
  • APV ‒ 8234 (+21), 
  • artillery systems – 4892 (+26), 
  • MLRS – 704 (+4), 
  • Anti-aircraft warfare systems ‒ 465 (+2),
  • aircraft – 315 (+0), 
  • helicopters – 311 (+0), 
  • UAV operational-tactical level – 4077 (+35),
  • cruise missiles ‒ 1347 (+0),
  • warships / boats ‒ 18 (+0),
  • vehicles and fuel tanks – 7372 (+23),
  • special equipment ‒ 721 (+3).

During the day, the Russian Federation carried out another airstrike by Iranian strike UAVs “Shahed-136/131” on Ukraine. By the forces and means of the Air Force, in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Defense Forces, all 15 enemy “shaheeds” were destroyed. Also, the enemy launched 1 missile, 47 air strikes and fired 23 rocket salvo fire strikes at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are victims among the civilian population.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

About 30 combat clashes took place during the day.

Volyn and Poliske axes: the operational situation has not changed significantly.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the enemy carried out airstrikes in Veterinarny, Kharkiv, Vesely regions of the Kharkiv region. He carried out mortar and artillery shelling of more than 30 settlements, in particular, Karpovychi and Tymonovichi of Chernihiv region; Bachivsk, Vyshenky, Volfine, Kindrativka, Pokrovka in the Sumy region and Uda, Ternova, Pletenivka, Okhrimivka, Vilkhuvatka in the Kharkiv region.

Kup’yans’k axis: the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Petropavlivka and Kislivka. Odradne, Zapadne, Petropavlivka, and Podola of the Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

Lyman axis: the following settlements were hit by enemy artillery fire – Nevske, Belogorivka of the Luhansk region and Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Torske of the Donetsk region.

Bakhmut axis: the defense forces are restraining the enemy in the direction south and south-east of Ivanovsky. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the area of the settlements of Chasiv Yar, Ivanovske and Druzhba. More than 15 settlements, including Rozdolivka, Markove, Bohdanivka, Ivanovske, Bila Gora and New York of the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.

Avdiivka axis: the enemy launched an air strike in the Avdiivka area. He carried out unsuccessful offensive actions north and south-east of Avdiyivka and south-east of Pervomaisky, Donetsk region. Stepove, Lastochkine, Avdiivka and Pervomaiske were hit by artillery fire.

Mar’inka axis: the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the area of the city of Marinka. The enemy launched airstrikes near Krasnohorivka and Maryinka. He shelled the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Gostre, Georgiivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

Shakhtars’ke axis: the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Makarivka and the village of Rivnopil. The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position west of Staromayorsky and east of Urozhany. Vremivka, Rivnopil, and Novosilky of the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

Zaporizhzhia axis: the enemy carried out airstrikes in Uspenivka and Malaya Tokmachka districts of Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the further advance of our troops. More than 15 settlements, including Novodarivka, Chervone, Charivne, Shcherbaki, Pavlivka, Kamianske of Zaporizhzhya Oblast, and Nikopol of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, were hit by artillery fire.

Kherson axis: the enemy launched an air strike in the Odradokamyanka region. More than 20 settlements, including Osokorivka, Kachkarivka, Novoberislav, Kozatske, Kherson, and Pervomaiske of the Kherson region, and Dmytrivka and Ochakiv of the Mykolaiv region, were hit by enemy artillery fire.

At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk axes, are entrenched at the reached boundaries, and carry out counter-battery countermeasures.

During the day, the aviation of the defense forces made 8 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the enemy and 2 – on the anti-aircraft missile complexes of the occupiers.

During the day, units of missile troops and artillery hit 10 artillery pieces in firing positions, 1 radar station, 1 control post, 1 area of concentration of weapons and military equipment, 2 anti-aircraft defense means, 3 enemy ammunition depots.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
