The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.2022 to 10.08.2023 were approximately:

Glory to Ukraine! The five hundred and thirty-third day of the large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine continues.

During the day, the enemy carried out 3 missile and 49 air strikes, 36 attacks from MLRS systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

About 25 combat clashes took place during the day.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Stepny and Kostyantynivka of the Sumy region. Carried out mortar and artillery attacks on more than 20 settlements, in particular, Klyusy, Bleshnya, Karpovichi of the Chernihiv region; Popivka, Timofiivka, Stukalyvka of the Sumy region and Udy, Guryiv Kozachok, Odnorobivka, Strelecha, Okhrimivka in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Nadia region and south of Novoselivskyi, Luhansk region. More than 10 settlements, including Kamianka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kindrashivka, Golubivka, and Kupyansk of the Kharkiv region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.

On the Lyman direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bilogorivka, Luhansk region, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. The settlements of Nevske, Bilogorivka of the Luhansk region and Torske, Spirne, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region were hit by enemy artillery fire.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Bohdanivka. More than 10 settlements, including Vasyukivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, and Predtechine of the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, under heavy fire from the enemy’s aircraft and artillery, our defenders continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the Avdiivka area. The enemy carried out an air strike in the Severny region. More than 10 settlements, including Oleksandropil, Novokalynove, Novoselivka Persha, Avdiivka, and Severene of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery fire.

In the Marinka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the area of the city of Marinka, Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, Paraskoviivka and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery fire.

On the Shakhtarske direction, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position in the Staromayorsky district.

The adversary also carried out an airstrike there. Vodyane, Ugledar, Bogoyavlenka, Prechistivka, Velyka Novosilka, Blagodatne of the Donetsk region were subjected to artillery fire.

In the direction of Zaporizhzhia, the enemy carried out an air strike in the area of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia region. More than 15 settlements were hit by artillery fire, including Olhivske, Chervone, Gulyaipole, Pyatikhatky, Kamianske of the Zaporizhia region, and Nikopol of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy launched an airstrike in the Kozatsky area of the Kherson region. More than 20 settlements, including Zolota Balka, Respublikanets, Chervyn Mayak, Shlyahove, Kozatske, Antonivka, and Veletenske of the Kherson region and Kherson, were hit by enemy artillery fire; Kutsurub, Ochakiv, Dmytrivka, Mykolaiv region.

At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, are entrenched at the reached boundaries, and carry out counter-battery countermeasures.

During the day, the aviation of the defense forces made 10 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 2 – on the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile complex.

Our defenders also destroyed 7 enemy attack UAVs of the “Shakhed-136” type.

During the day, units of missile troops and artillery struck 4 artillery pieces at firing positions, 1 area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 
1 electronic warfare station and 1 enemy communication node.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
