Ukrainian General Staff: 570 Russian military casualties in 24 hours

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.2022 to 30.08.2023 were approximately:

Glory to Ukraine! The five hundred and fifty-third day of large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against our state continues.

Tonight, the russian federation launched another air and missile attack on the territory of Ukraine, using air-launched missiles and Iranian attack drones “Shahed-136/131”. As a result of successful combat operations by the forces and means of air defense of the Air Force in cooperation with the air defense forces of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, 
28 cruise missiles and 15 attack UAVs of the “Shahed-136/131” type were destroyed.

During the day, the enemy launched 30 missile and 52 air strikes, fired 35 MLRS systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civil infrastructure were destroyed.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

35 combat clashes took place during the day.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Volfyny, Sumy Region, and Potikhonoy, Kharkiv Region. Carried out mortar and artillery attacks on more than 20 settlements, in particular, Karpovychi, Semenivka of the Chernihiv region, Mefodivka, Seredyna-Buda, Vorozhba, Kostyantynivka, and Volodymyrivka of the Sumy region, and Graniv, Pletenivka, Balka, Odradne, Liman Drujy of the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy launched an air strike in the Kislivka area of the Kharkiv region. The settlements of Masyutivka, Synkivka, Kucherivka, Kislivka, and Berestov of the Kharkiv region were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the Novoyehorivka and Bilogorivka areas. Carried out airstrikes in the districts of Nadia, Tverdokhlibovo, Novoyehorivka, Belogorivka of the Luhansk region and Serebryanka, Spirnyi of the Donetsk region. The settlements of Kreminna in the Luhansk region and Kuzmyne, Torske, Liman in the Donetsk region were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Kurdyumivka area of the Donetsk region. Conducted airstrikes in Klishchiivka and Andriivka districts of Donetsk region. More than 20 settlements, including Lypivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Chasiv Yar, Stupochki, Toretsk, and Zalizne of the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy launched artillery and mortar attacks on the settlements of Oleksandropil, Stepove, Tonenke, Severne, and Karlivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the Marinka area of the Donetsk region. The settlements of Zhelanne Pershe, Gostre, Antonivka, Elizavetivka, and Vodyane of the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

In the Shakhtarske direction, our defenders successfully repelled the attacks of russian troops in the Staromayorsky area of the Donetsk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Vugledar and Zolotaya Niva of the Donetsk region. Such settlements as Vugledar, Prechistivka, Zolota Niva, Neskuchne, Rivnopil, and Zelene Pole of the Donetsk region were affected by enemy artillery fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhia region. Carried out airstrikes in the districts of Novodarivka, Verbovoy, Malaya Tokmachka, and Robotyny of the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 settlements, including Novodarivka, Poltavka, Gulyaipole, Lugivske, Novoandriivka, Pyatikhatki of the Zaporizhzhya region, were affected by enemy artillery shelling.

In the Kherson direction, more than 20 settlements were damaged by enemy artillery fire, in particular, Osokorivka, Kachkarivka, Kozatske, Olhivka, Kherson, Sofiivka of the Kherson region.

At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, are entrenched at the achieved boundaries, and carry out counter-battery countermeasures.

During the day, the aviation of the defense forces made 10 strikes on personnel concentration areas and 4 strikes on the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems.

During the day, units of missile troops and artillery struck 1 area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 1 control point and 1 enemy electronic warfare station.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
