Ukrainian General Staff: 350 Russian combat casualties in 24 hours

Glory to Ukraine! The five hundred and ninety-third day of the large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against our state continues.

34 combat clashes took place during the day. The enemy launched 1 missile and 39 air strikes, carried out 23 attacks from MLRS systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, continues shelling of populated areas from the territory of the russian federation, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of settlements of Galaganivka, Chernihiv region; Digtyarne and Stepne of Sumy region. About 10 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar fire, including Senkivka, Chernihiv region; Stepne of the Sumy region; Kozacha Lopan, Vovchanski Khutory, Okhrimivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, our defenders repelled 5 enemy attacks in the areas of Sinkivka and Ivanivka settlements of Kharkiv region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the vicinity of Kindrashyvka, Petropavlivka, and Pischany, Kharkiv region. More than 
15 settlements, in particular, Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, Kislivka, Synkivka of the Kharkiv region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled 7 enemy attacks in the Makiivka area of the Luhansk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes near Bilogorivka, Luhansk Region, and Siversk, Spirny, Donetsk Region. More than 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar shelling, among them Nevske, Belogorivka of the Luhansk region and Spirne, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region.

In the direction of Bakhmut, our defenders repelled 4 enemy attacks near Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the districts of Klishchiivka and Andriivka. More than 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Minskivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, New York of the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, the occupiers carried out airstrikes in the areas of Keramik, Novokalynove and Avdiivka settlements of the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements, including Stepove, Avdiivka, Opytne, and Nevelske of the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Mariinka direction, during the day, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 
15 enemy attacks in the Marinka and Novomykhailivka districts of the Donetsk region. The enemy also launched airstrikes here. About 15 settlements were under artillery fire of the occupiers, in particular, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Georgiivka, Pobyeda, Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarske direction, our defenders repelled an enemy attack in the Staromayorsky district of the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements, including Vugledar, Prechistivka, Blagodatne, and Urozhane of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack in the Levadny area of the Zaporizhzhia region. The occupiers carried out airstrikes near Malaya Tokmachka, Robotyny, Zaporizhzhia region. About 30 settlements, including Orihiv, Novodanilivka, Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaki, Pyatikhatka of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

On the Kherson direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the districts of Zmiivka and Beryslav of the Kherson region. Prydniprovske, Kherson of the Kherson region, Dmytrivka of the Mykolaiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue offensive operations in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces made 10 strikes on the areas where the enemy’s personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated.

Units of the missile forces hit the command post, the ammunition warehouse, 2 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, and the enemy’s EW station.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
