Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and forty-eighth day of large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against our state continues.

The russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, he does not give up his plans for the full occupation of Ukraine. The adversary continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

During the day, 56 combat clashes took place.

The enemy launched 1 missile and 31 air strikes, fired 24 MLRS strikes at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the russian Federation, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. About 20 settlements, including Volodymyrivka, Hasychivka, Chernihiv region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks; Cossacks of the Sumy region; Graniv, Budarky, Chugunivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy carried out assaults in the Sinkivka districts of the Kharkiv region, where defense forces repelled 7 attacks. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Figolivka, Ivanivka, Kislivka, Tabaivka, Krokhmalne, and Berestov in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, conducted unsuccessful assaults in the Serebryansk Forestry area of the Luhansk region, where the defense forces repelled 3 attacks. The enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Spirne, Donetsk region. About 10 settlements were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling, among them Makiivka, Nevske, Belogorivka of Luhansk Oblast and Yampolivka, Torske, Dibrova of Donetsk Oblast.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy, with the support of aviation, carried out assaults in the Bohdanivka, Ivanovsky, Klishchiivka and Andriivka districts of the Donetsk region, where the defense forces repelled 16 attacks. About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Minkivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Ozaryanivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas east of Novokalynovy, east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepovoy, Avdiivka, Severnoy, and Pervomaisky of the Donetsk region, where the defense forces repelled 14 attacks. About 15 settlements, among them Novokalynove, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Netaylove, Nevelske of the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Marinka direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, conducted unsuccessful assaults in the Marinka and Novomykhailivka districts of the Donetsk region, where defense forces repelled 5 attacks. Such settlements of Donetsk region as Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Georgiivka, Pobyeda, Paraskoviivka, Katerynivka came under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

On the Shakhtarske direction, the enemy conducted an unsuccessful assault in the Staromayorsky district of the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Vugledar, Prechistivka, Zolota Niva, and Urozhane of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy tried unsuccessfully 3 times to restore the lost position in the areas south of Robotiny, Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy also conducted unsuccessful assaults in the Novopokrovka region of the Zaporizhzhia region. He carried out an airstrike in the Novodarivka region of the Zaporizhzhia region.

About 25 settlements, including Charivne, Novodanilivka, Mali Shcherbaki, Stepove, Kamianske, and Plavni of the Zaporizhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar fire.

On the Kherson direction, the enemy launched an airstrike in the Krynka area of the Kherson region. Such settlements as Dudchany, Beryslav, Ivanivka, Sadov, Romashkovo of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson, as well as Ochakiv of the Mykolaiv region, were subjected to enemy artillery fire.

The defense forces will continue to hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro river in the Kherson region. They continue to inflict fire damage on the enemy.

During the day, the aviation of the defense forces made 8 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 2 on anti-aircraft missile complexes and 2 on the enemy’s ammunition depots.

Units of the missile forces inflicted damage on the heavy flamethrower volley fire system and the anti-aircraft missile and gun complex “Pancir” of the enemy.

Also, 10 out of 12 UAVs of the “Shahed-136/131” type were destroyed at night by the forces and means of air defense of Ukraine.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
