Ukrainian General Staff:  Ukraine attacks 12 concentrations of Russian troops

Glory to Ukraine! Six hundred seventy-ninth era of large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine began.

The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses tactics of terror, launches missiles and air strikes, carries out shelling from jet fire systems not only on military, but also on numerous civilian objects of our country.

During the past day, there have been 57 battles. In total, the enemy carried out 89 missiles and 72 air strikes including Shahed-136/131 drones, carrying out 48 shelling with reactive volcano fire systems at the positions of our troops and settlements. As a result of the Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and over 130 injured civilians, including children. More than 100 private residential and apartment buildings, other civil and industrial infrastructure suffered destruction and damage in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odessa regions.

Bilogorivka, Serebryan forestry of Luhansk region suffered air strikes; Avdiyivka, Novomykhailivka, Georgiyivka, Donetsk region; Novodanylivka and Nuts of Zaporizhia region.

About 120 settlements of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts were under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of the OSUV “North” in the Volyn and Polish directions, the operating environment remains without significant changes.

In the Siver and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active diversionary activities in order to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions, increases the density of mine-explosive fences along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of osuv “Khortytsia” in the kupâns таkomu direction Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks near syn ляkivka and eastern petropavlivki of Kharkiv region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break the defense of our troops.

In the Limans )komu direction, the occupiers of the aggressive (storm) actions did not lead.

In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 6 attacks of the enemy in the areas of Bogdanivka, Klishchievka and Andriyivka of Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of the OSUV “Tavria” in the Avdiyiv direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to restrain the enemy who does not abandon attempts to surround Avdiyivka. Our soldiers are steadfastly holding the defense, causing zagarbnikam significant losses. Yes, the Defense Forces over the past day repelled 8 attacks of the enemy near Novobakhmutívka, Berdychiv, Avdiyivka and 16 more attacks in the areas of Pervomayskogo and Nevels діkogo Donetsk region. Southeast Novobakhmutívka, our defenders have improved the tactical position.

In the marí̈ns комуkomu and šakhtars мkomu directions, the enemy of aggressive (storming) actions did not lead.

In the Zaporizhia direction of the Defense Forces repelled the attack of the enemy near the Robotinogo Zaporizhzhia region. In the Willow area, our troops advanced, forcing the enemy to leave some positions.

In the area of responsibility of the OSUV “Odessa” in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces continue to expand the platform. Despite the significant losses, the occupiers do not give up attempts to knock our units out of their occupied positions. So over the past day, the enemy has carried out 9 unsuccessful assault operations.

At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to actively cause the occupation troops losses in live force and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the past day, the Ukrainian Air Force has struck 12 areas of concentration of enemy personnel.

Missile troop units hit 2 focus areas of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 3 anti-missile complexes, 2 control points, artillery system, radiolocation system and enemy fuel warehouse.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
