Ukraine General Staff: 780 Russian troops killed or wounded in past 24 hours; 33 tanks and APC’s destroyed or damaged

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and eightieth day of large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against our state continues.

The adversary continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy actively uses operational-tactical aviation and quadrocopters of the “FPV” type, conducts assault operations with the support of armored vehicles.

During the day, 44 combat clashes took place. In total, the enemy launched 6 missile and 14 air strikes, launched 13 attacks from MLRS on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private residential and multi-apartment buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the russian federation, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. About 15 settlements, including Stepok, Popivka, Kostyantynivka, Chuykivka of the Sumy region, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling; Udy, Vovchansk, Mala Vovcha, Potikhonov, Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the defense forces repelled 2 enemy attacks near Synkivka and east of Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Synkivka, Tabaivka, Ivanivka, Berestovka of the Kharkiv region.

The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Lyman direction. More than 10 settlements were shelled with artillery and mortars, among them Bilogorivka in the Luhansk region and Yampolivka, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne in the Donetsk region.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repelled 3 attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of our troops. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 14 attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepovoy, Avdiivka, and another 9 attacks near Pervomaiskyi and Nevelskyi, Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical position. About 10 settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne, and Nevelske of the Donetsk region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the Marinka and Novomykhailivka districts of the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried 7 times to break through the defenses of our troops. The enemy also carried out an airstrike near Georgiyvka, Donetsk region. Georgiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka came under artillery and mortar fire.

The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Shakhtarske direction. More than 10 settlements, in particular, Vugledar, Prechistivka, Zolota Niva, Staromayorske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repulsed 7 attacks near Robotyno and north-west of Verbovoy in the Zaporizhzhia region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to restore the lost position. More than 15 settlements, including Poltavka, Chervone, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Robotine, and Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Kherson direction, Novovorontsovka, Beryslav, Tyaginka, Ivanivka, Novotyaginka, Kherson, Stanislav of the Kherson region and Solonchaky, Ochakiv of the Mykolaiv region were subjected to enemy artillery fire. The enemy also carried out an airstrike in the area of Zmiivka settlement of the Kherson region.

The invaders do not give up their intention to knock out our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper. Thus, during the day, the enemy carried out 
6 unsuccessful assaults, but Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold their positions and inflict significant losses on the occupiers.

During the day, the Aviation of the Defense Forces struck 10 personnel concentration areas and 2 enemy control points.

Units of the missile forces hit an anti-aircraft defense system, 4 artillery systems, an electronic warfare station and 3 enemy control points.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
