National Unity Government (NUG) Acting President Duwa Lashi La emphasized the critical need for all revolutionary forces to work together to dismantle the military apparatus of the dictatorship. Speaking at a cabinet meeting on June 18, he highlighted the varying intensities of military engagements across different regions of Myanmar during the ongoing Spring Revolution.
“I would like all members of the government to be aware of some of the military maps that are going through during the current Spring Revolution. Currently, Rakhine, Kachin, Northern and Southern Shan, Karenni states, and the Tanintharyi Region are witnessing a high military momentum due to the resistance war. However, in other areas of the resistance war, we can see some calm due to the priorities of the respective revolutionary groups. From a military point of view, nothing can be said with absolute certainty, but in order to root out the military apparatus of the military dictator, I would like to say that the joint action of all revolutionary forces is very important,” said the Acting President.
Acting President Duwa Lashi La stressed that coordinated action, designed and implemented with military precision, is essential for a successful strategy against the military council. This includes establishing a unified command system and strategically coordinated military missions. He highlighted the importance of efficiently distributing military resources, including weapons and ammunition, and emphasized the timing of communication and movement.
Furthermore, the Acting President underscored the necessity of maintaining public support during the people’s resistance war. He cautioned that while military victories are essential, they should notcome at the expense of losing the people’s support. He urged the revolutionary forces to not only focus on winning territories but also to ensure they capture the hearts and minds of the populace.
