Russian Defense Ministry:Up to 670 Ukrainian troops killed in 24 hours

The AFU continued unsuccessful attempts to conduct offensive actions in Donetsk, Krasny Liman and South Donetsk directions. 

In Donetsk direction, the active actions by the defending units, aviation and artillery of the Yug Group of Forces, 8 enemy attacks have been successfully repelled near Belogorovka (Lugansk People’s Republic), Zaitsevo, Pervomaiskoye, Maryinka and Kleshcheevka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

▫️In addition, the units of the 28th, 54th mechanised, 80th airborne assault brigades of the AFU and the 107th Territorial Defence Brigade have been eliminated close to Grigorovka and Konstantinovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

▫️In addition, ammunition depots of the enemy 3rd Assault Brigade and the 4th Battalion of Operative Purpose of the National Guard of Ukraine have been destroyed close to Grigorovka and Spornoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

▫️The enemy losses were up to 280 Ukrainian servicemen, 3 tanks, 5 armoured fighting vehicles, 8 pickup trucks, 1 Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled artillery system, 2 Msta-B howitzers, 3 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, and 1 U.S.-manufactured AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar station.

In Krasny Liman direction, as a result of competent and well-coordinated actions of the Tsentr Group of Forces, 4 enemy attacks have been repelled close to Nevskoye, Novovodyanoye (Lugansk People’s Republic) and Torskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

▫️In the course of successful counterattack actions, units of the 15th Motorised Rifle Brigade under the skilful command of Lieutenant Colonel Builov liberated Sergeevka. The total advance of our troops was up to 4 kilometres along the front and up to 2 kilometres deep into the defending enemy troops.

Close to Serebryansky forestry, units of the 234th Airborne Assault Regiment, commanded by Guards Colonel Vasilyev, have repelled an enemy attack, inflicted a fire damage on the AFU units and started counterattack actions. Acting competently and coherently, the servicemen rapidly advanced 1.5 kilometres deep into the AFU defence.

▫️The activities of 1 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group have been suppressed near Terny (Donetsk People’s Republic).

▫️In addition, 21st, 63rd and 67th mechanised brigades of the AFU and the 5th Brigade of Operative Purpose of the National Guard of Ukraine have been also hit close to Terny, Torskoye and Yampolovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Ammunition depots of the 44th Motorised Infantry Brigade and the 100th Territorial Defence Brigade of the AFU have been destroyed near Torskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic) and Novolyubovka (Lugansk People’s Republic).

▫️The enemy losses were up to 190 Ukrainian servicemen, 6 armoured fighting vehicles, 5 pickup trucks, 2 D-20 howitzers, 1 D-30 gun, 2 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems, and 1 U.S.-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station.

In South Donetsk direction, as a result of active actions by Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, as well as artillery of the Vostok Group of Forces, 4 enemy attacks have been successfully repelled close to Staromayorskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The 110th Territorial Defence Brigade’s manpower and hardware have been hit close to Novoivanovka (Zaporozhye region).

AFU, the 108th and 129th territorial defence brigades close to Zeleny Gai, Mirnoye, Orekhov, Malaya Tokmachka and Pyatikhatki (Zaporozhye region).

▫️In addition, the activities of 3 Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have been suppressed near Dorozhnyanka (Zaporozhye region).

Ammunition and fuel depots of the AFU 33rd Mechanised Brigade and the 15th Brigade of Operative Purpose of the National Guard of Ukraine have been destroyed near Malaya Tokmachka and Orekhov (Zaporozhye region).

▫️The enemy losses were up to 140 Ukrainian servicemen, 1 tank, 4 armoured fighting vehicles, 2 motor vehicles, U.S.-manufactured M777 artillery system, UK-manufactured FH-70 howitzer, 2 D-20 guns, as well as Giatsint-S howitzer.

In Kupyansk direction, as a result of active actions by Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, and artillery of the Zapad Group of Forces, manpower and hardware of the 14th and 43rd mechanised brigades of the AFU and the 103rd Territorial Defence Brigade have been hit close to Molchanovo, Petropavlovka, Berestovoye, Kislovka (Kharkov region) and Stelmakhovka (Lugansk People’s Republic).

▫️The enemy losses were up to 35 Ukrainian servicemen, two armoured fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles, two D-20 howitzers, and one U.S.-manufactured AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar station.

In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 60 Ukrainian servicemen, 10 motor vehicles, and 1 Akatsiya self-propelled artillery system.

▫️Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralised 113 AFU artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and hardware in 122 areas.

▫️In addition, 1 temporary deployment of foreign mercenaries has been hit near Vyazovok (Cherkasy region).

Depots of ammunition, weapons and military hardware, delivered to Ukraine from Western countries have been destroyed close to Chudnov (Zhitomir region).

▫️In addition, command posts of the 42nd and 63rd mechanised brigades and the AFU 35th Marine Brigade have been hit close to Pervomayskoye and Torskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

Air defence facilities have destroyed a Ukrainian Air Force’s Mi-24 helicopter close to Novodarovka (Zaporozhye region).

10 HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system projectiles have been intercepted.

▫️In addition, 22 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been intercepted close to Lisichansk, Popasnaya (Lugansk People’s Republic), Petrovskoye, Lozovoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Energodar, Zeleny Gai, Balochki and Sladkaia Balka (Zaporozhye region).

In total, 457 airplanes, 244 helicopters, 5,258 unmanned aerial vehicles, 426 air defence missile systems, 10,889 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,139 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 5,604 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 11,888 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
