Russian Ministry of Defense:  1,175 Ukrainian troops killed or wounded in 24 hours

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.

In Kupyansk direction, as a result of active actions by units of the Zapad Group of Forces, units of 30th and 32nd mechanised brigades  of the AFU have been eliminated, four enemy counterattacks have been repelled close to Sinkovka (Kharkov region).

The enemy losses were up to 45 Ukrainian servicemen and two pick up trucks.

In addition, in the course of counter-battery warfare, one German-manufactured Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery system, three Gvozdika self-propelled artillery units, as well as one U.S.-manufactured M119 gun.

In Donetsk direction, units of the Yug Group of Forces have improved positions along the front line, Russian troops have inflicted a fire defeat on units of the AFU 28th Mechanised Brigade and the 241st Brigade of the Territorial Defence of Ukraine near Kurdyumovka and Krasnoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), and also repelled an attack by assault groups of the 42nd Mechanised Brigade of the AFU close to Bogdanovka (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were over 395 servicemen, three tanks, including German-manufactured Leopard tanks, three U.S.-manufactured M113 armored personnel carriers, four armoured fighting vehicles, and nine motor vehicles.

In addition, during counter-battery warfare, one Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled artillery system, one D-20 howitzer, one Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and one D-30 howitzer have been destroyed.

In Avdeevka direction, units of the Tsentr Group of Forces continued to occupy more advantageous lines and positions and also defeated manpower and hardware concentration areas of 24th and 53rd mechanised brigades of the AFU.

In addition, four counterattacks by assault groups of 59th mechanised and 3rd assault brigades of the AFU have been repelled near Lastochkino and Pervomayskoye (Donetsk People’s Republic).

The enemy losses were up to 425 troops, one tank, four armoured fighting vehicles, and five motor vehicles killed and wounded.

In South Donetsk direction,units of the Vostok Group of Forces have inflicted a fire defeat on the formations of the 108th Territorial Defence Brigade near Lugovskoye (Zaporozhye region). In addition, one counterattack by an assault group of the 58th Mechanised Brigade of the AFU has been repulsed near Shevchenko (Zaporozhye region).

The enemy losses were up to 190 troops, one tank, and four motor vehicles.

In the course of counter-battery warfare, one U.S.-manufactured M777 artillery system, one UK-manufactured FH-70 howitzer, one MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun, and one Bukovel-AD electronic warfare station.

In Kherson direction, as a result of coordinated actions by units of the Dnepr Group of Forces, in cooperation with artillery, a comprehensive fire defeat has been inflicted on units of 65th, 118th mechanised, and 82nd air assault brigades of the AFU near Rabotino, Orekhov, and Verbovoye (Zaporozhye region).

The enemy losses were up to 120 servicemen, three pickup trucks, one U.S.-manufactured M777 artillery system, one U.S.-manufactured M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system, one Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and one D-30 howitzer.

Operational-Tactical Aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralised manpower and military hardware in 117 areas.

Air defence facilities have shot down one MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force near Belozyorka (Kherson region).

During the day, seven British-manufactured Storm Shadow cruise missiles, one U.S.-manufactured Patriot surface-to-air guided missile, and three U.S.-manufactured HIMARS multiple-launch rocket system projectiles have been intercepted.

In addition, 124 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been hit close to Mirnoye (Zaporozhye region), Lozovoye, Klyuchevoye (Donetsk People’s Republic), Podgornoye, Novogorovka, and Kremennaya (Lugansk People’s Republic).

In total, 572 airplanes and 266 helicopters, 12,943 unmanned aerial vehicles, 471 air defence missile systems, 15,123 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 1,222 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 8,118 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 18,860 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
