Russian Defence Ministry on progress of special military operation as of 16 February 2026
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation.
As a result of decisive actions, units of the Sever Group of Forces liberated Pokrovka in Sumy region.
The Group’s units inflicted losses on the formations of one mechanised brigade of the AFU and one territorial defence brigade near Grafskoye, Andreyevka, and Miropolye (Sumy region).
In Kharkov region, units of one mechanised brigade of the AFU and one national guard brigade have been hit near Kazachya Lopan, Liptsy, and Tokarevka (Kharkov region).
The AFU losses amounted to more than 170 troops, 18 motor vehicles, four materiel depots, and three ammunition depots.
The Zapad Group of Forces took more advantageous lines and positions. Russian troops inflicted fire damage on manpower and hardware of two mechanised brigades of th AFU and one territorial defence brigade near Novoosinovo, Kovsharovka (Kharkov region), Krasny Liman, and Ilyichevka (Donetsk People’s Republic).
AFU losses amounted to up to 150 troops, two armoured fighting vehicles, 13 motor vehicles, and one artillery gun have been neutralised. Three ammunition depots were neutralised.
As a result of active actions, units of the Yuzhnaya Group of Forces liberated Minkovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
Strikes were delivered at formations of three mechanised brigades, one motorised infantry brigade of the AFU, one marine brigade, and one national guard brigade close to Reznikovka, Nikiforovka, Konstantinovka, and Kramatorsk (Donetsk People’s Republic).
The enemy losses amounted to more than 175 troops, one tank, six armoured fighting vehicles, 15 pickup trucks, and one artillery gun. Two materiel depots were destroyed.
The Tsentr Group of Forces improved the tactical situation. Russian troops inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of four mechanised brigades, two jaeger brigades, one airmobile brigade of the AFU, one territorial defence Novopavlovka (Dnepropetrovsk region), Grishino, Maryevka, Svetloye, Belitskoye, Toretskoye, Sergeyevka, and Novy Donbass (Donetsk People’s Republic).
The AFU losses amounted to up to 300 troops, six armoured fighting vehicles, nine motor vehicles, and one artillery gun.

The AFU losses amounted to more than 275 troops, four armoured fighting vehicles, 10 motor vehicles, three field artillery guns, including one U.S.-made 155-mm Paladin self-propelled artillery system, and two electronic warfare stations.
The Dnepr Group of Forces improved the tactical situation. Manpower and hardware of one mechanised brigade and one mountain assault brigade of the AFU have been hit near Veselyanka, Grigorovka, and Orekhov (Zaporozhye region).
Up to 20 troops, three armoured fighting vehicles, 11 motor vehicles, two electronic warfare stations, one materiel depot, and one ammunition depot were neutralised.
Operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile troops and artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces have inflicted damage on energy and transport infrastructure facilities used for the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, storage and launch areas of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles as well as temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 152 areas.
Air defence systems shot down eight U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS projectiles and 345 fixed-wing UAVs.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation the enemy has lost:
670 aircraft,
283 helicopters,
114,642 unmanned aerial vehicles,
650 anti-aircraft missile systems,
27,726 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles,
1,664 MLRS combat vehicles,
33,313 field artillery guns and mortars,
54,532 units of support military vehicles.
