Russian Defence Ministry on progress of special military operation as of 24–30 January 2026
From 24 to 30 January, in response to Ukrainian terrorist attacks launched on civilian facilities in Russia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out one massive and six group strikes, which hit defence industry enterprises of Ukraine, power and transport infrastructure facilities that supported the AFU, ammunition and POL depots, production facilities and storage areas of attack unmanned aerial vehicles, temporary deployment areas of AFU formations and foreign mercenaries.
During the week, as a result of active offensive actions, units of the Sever Group of Forces liberated Staritsa (Kharkov region) and Belaya Bereza (Sumy region).
Russian troops inflicted fire damage on formations of four mechanised brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, three territorial defence brigades, one National Guard brigade, and two border security detachments of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
In total, in the area of responsibility of the Sever Group of Forces, the enemy losses were more than 950 troops, five armoured fighting vehicles, 74 motor vehicles, and eight field artillery guns. In addition, three electronic warfare and counter-battery stations as well as 11 ammunition and materiel depots were neutralised.
Over the past week, as a result of resolute actions, units of the Zapad Group of Forces liberated Kupyansk-Uzlovoy (Kharkov region).
Russian troops hit manpower and hardware of five mechanised brigades, two airmobile brigades, three assault brigades of the AFU, two territorial defence brigades, and three National Guard brigades.
The AFU losses in this direction were more than 1,300 troops, 22 armoured fighting vehicles, 132 motor vehicles, and 13 field artillery guns. In addition, 29 ammunition depots were destroyed.
As a result of resolute actions, units of the Yug Group of Forces liberated Berestok (Donetsk People’s Republic) within 24 hours.
Russian troops delivered strikes at formations od five mechanised brigades, one motorised infantry brigade, one airmobile brigade, one assault brigade, one mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one marine brigade, and two territorial defence brigades.
Over the past week, in the area of responsibility of the Yug Group of Forces, the enemy losses were more than 1,020 troops and 18 armoured fighting vehicles including five foreign-made ones. In addition, 98 motor vehicles, 25 artillery guns, seven electronic warfare and counter-battery stations, and 22 ammunition, POL, and materiel depots were neutralised.

In total, in the area of responsibility of the Vostok Group of Forces, the enemy losses were more than 2,315 troops, two tanks, 22 armoured fighting vehicles, 104 motor vehicles, and eight artillery guns.
Over the past week, as a result of coordinated actions, units of the Dnepr Group of Forces liberated Novoyakovlevka (Zaporozhye region).
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops took control over Rechnoye (Zaporozhye region).
In addition, Russian troops inflicted fire damage on manpower and hardware of two mechanised brigades, one mountain assault brigade, and one coastal defence brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The AFU losses were up to 315 troops, 54 motor vehicles, three artillery guns, 16 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations as well as four materiel depots.
Over the past week, attack unmanned aerial vehicles, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces destroyed three MLRS combat vehicles including one U.S.-made MLRS launcher.
Air defence systems shot down four guided aerial bombs, 46 U.S.-made HIMARS MLRS projectiles, one S-200 anti-aircraft missile converted to hit ground targets, and 822 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle.
The Black Sea Fleet’s units destroyed an AFU uncrewed surface vehicle.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the enemy has lost:
