The one hundred ninth (109) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a Russian military invasion continues.

In the Volyn and Polissya directions, the enemy did not take active action. In the border areas of the Republic of Belarus, additional measures are being taken for the engineering equipment of checkpoints and the deployment of additional means of electronic warfare.

In the Siversky direction, the enemy continues to provide enhanced protection of the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Bryansk and Kursk regions. Increased levels of terrorist threat continued in Belgorod and Kursk oblasts. The enemy continues to fire mortars at the positions of the Defense Forces in the border areas. In addition, the aggressor fired on civilian infrastructure in the areas of Rozhkovychi, Hremyach, Luhivka and Popivka.

The situation in the Kharkiv direction has not changed significantly. To restrain the actions of the defense forces, it exerts systematic fire on the positions of our units. In addition, the enemy fired on civilian infrastructure near Virnopilla, Ukrainka, Petrivka, Chepil and Khrestyshche. It struck an air strike near the village of Mospanovo.

In the Slovyansk direction, the enemy carried out systematic artillery shelling in the areas of the settlements of Petrivske, Nova Husarivka, Kurulka, Dolyna. It is trying to gain a foothold in the village of Bohorodychne, the fighting continues.

The enemy did not take active action in the Lyman direction. It increased the intensity of artillery use, including multiple rocket launchers, in the areas of Shipylivka and Dronivka, and is conducting regrouping of troops.

In the Siverodonetsk direction, the occupiers are conducting assaults in the city of Siverodonetsk, to no avail. Fighting continues in the Toshkivka area.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy fired at our positions with mortars, barrel and jet artillery in the areas of the settlements of Komyshuvakha, Hirske, Mykolayivka, Bilohorivka, and Novoluhanske. Enemy army aircraft struck near Pokrovsky.

Ukrainian soldiers repulsed the offensive near the village of Vrubivka. The enemy also tried to advance in the direction of the settlement of Mykolayivka. He received a decisive rebuff and left. Our defenders also successfully repulsed the enemy assault in the Vasylivka area. The Russian occupiers suffered losses and retreated to their former positions.

The enemy did not conduct active hostilities in the Avdiivka, Kurakhiv, Novopavliv and Zaporizhzhia areas. It insidiously fired on civilian infrastructure in the areas of Zhelanne, Avdiivka, Karlivka, Vuhledar and Orikhiv. It deploys additional units in some areas.

In the South Buh direction, the enemy defended, firing at units of our troops with artillery, mortars and multiple rocket launchers.

The Russian occupiers shelled the settlements of Tverdomedovo, Bereznehuvate, Kobzartsi, Kvitneve and Luch.

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy has lost ten tanks, sixteen armored combat vehicles, seven UAVs, more than ten vehicles and up to 150 manpower.

In the Slobozhansky direction, Russian enemy is fighting, trying to improve the tactical situation, continues to improve the engineering equipment of defensive positions in the area of the settlement of Novy Burluk.

Russian enemy fired mortars, artillery and rocket-propelled grenades at the settlements of Zamulivka, Bayrak, Husarivka and Ruski Tyshky.

Russian enemy unsuccessfully attacked in the direction of settlements Starytsa – Rubizhne.

In the Slovyansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers successfully repulsed enemy assault operations in the directions Dovhenke – Mazanivka and Dovhenke – Dolyna.

In the Donetsk direction, Russian enemy’s main efforts are focused on the Siverodonetsk and Bakhmut directions. Russians fired at the positions of our troops along the line of contact.

Russian enemy did not take active action in the Lyman direction, and continued shelling of our units. It takes measures to prepare for the offensive.

In the Siverodonetsk direction, Russian enemy continued to use barrel and jet artillery. It is trying to overcome the resistance of our troops and establish full control over the city of Siverodonetsk, the fighting continues.

In the Bakhmut direction, occupiers carried out assault operations to cover the village of Vrubivka, but were unsuccessful.

In an attempt to resume the assault in the direction of Orikhove – Zolote, Russian enemy received a decisive rebuff from Ukrainian defenders and withdrew.

In the Avdiivka, Novopavlivske and Zaporizhzhia directions, Russian enemy exerts systematic fire on the positions of our troops in order to restrain their actions and prevent regrouping.

In the South Buh area, invaders are trying to hold their former positions and fire on units of the Defense Forces.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
