Ukraine General Staff: 430 Russian troops killed in 24 hours

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.2022 to 29.05.2023 were approximately:

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred and sixtieth day of the large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against our state continues.

During the day, the russian federation carried out two massive air and missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine. At night, the enemy used Kh-101/Kh-555 air-based cruise missiles and Iranian attack UAVs “Shahed-136/131”. According to detailed information, the forces and means of air commands, in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, destroyed 36 out of 40 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 30 out of 38 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. During the day, the enemy used cruise and ballistic missiles of the operational-tactical missile complex “Iskander” against the objects of the civil and critical infrastructure of the city of Kyiv. 11 out of 11 missiles were destroyed by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In general, during this day, the enemy carried out 53 airstrikes and carried out about 
20 attacks from MLRS systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there are victims among the civilian population, private residential buildings, other civil and administrative infrastructure have been damaged.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to completely occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. During the day, units of the defense forces repelled 20 enemy attacks.

In the Volyn and Polissiya directions, the operational situation remains stable, no signs of the formation of offensive groups have been detected.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi areas, the enemy continues to maintain a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. During the day, carried out an airstrike in the Milovo region of the Kharkiv region. Carried out mortar and artillery shelling of the settlements of Seredyna-Buda, Pavlivka, Katerynivka, Shevchenkive, Velika Pisarivka of the Sumy region, as well as Udy, Strelecha, Hlyboke, Morokhovets, Ternova, Izbytske, Staritsa, Gatyshche, Vovchansk, Pletenivka, Tyche, Vovchanski Khutory, Mala Vovcha, Varvarivka, Budarka, Zemlyanka, Chugunivka in the Kharkiv region.

On the Kupyansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the Masyutivka area of the Kharkiv region during the day. Kolodyazne, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masyutivka, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Kislivka, Hlushkivka, Berestovka, Bohuslavka of the Kharkiv region were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks.

During the day, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Lyman direction. Carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bilogorivka, Luhansk region, and Spirnyi, Donetsk region. Nevske, Dibrova, Belogorivka of the Luhansk region and Spirne of the Donetsk region were hit by artillery fire.

During the day, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Bakhmut direction. Carried out an airstrike in the Toretsk district of the Donetsk region. Vasyukivka, Kramatorsk, Tikhonivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Ivanovske, Predtechine, Bila Gora, Zalizne and New York of the Donetsk region were affected by enemy shelling.

The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Avdiivka direction. Carried out airstrikes in the Avdiivka and Vodyanyi districts and artillery shelling of the settlements of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Karlivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, our defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks in the area of the city of Maryinka. The enemy launched an air strike in the Georgiivka area. At the same time, Maryinka and Georgiyvka in the Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

On the Shakhtarske direction, the enemy launched airstrikes in the areas of Vugledar and Prechistivka. Shelled the settlements of Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vugledar, Novoukrainka, Prechistivka, and Shakhtarske.

The enemy continues to conduct defensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. Carried out airstrikes in the areas of Gulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka of the Zaporizhzhia region. Shelled the settlements of Vremivka, Zelene Pole, Novopil of the Donetsk region; Olhivske, Gulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, Orihiv, Novoandriivka and Stepnogrisk of the Zaporizhzhia region; Kachkarivka, Mylove, Kozatske, Burgunka, Lviv, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Komysany, Dniprovske, Kizomys of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

The russian occupiers continue to rob the civilian population. For example, in the temporarily occupied Svatovo region of Luhansk region, harvesters, trucks and other expensive equipment are simply taken from farms that, due to the departure of the owner, cannot provide some documents on the right of ownership.

The air force of the defense forces made 15 strikes during the day on areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated.

Units of missile forces and artillery hit 3 areas of concentration of weapons and military equipment, an ammunition depot, 3 anti-aircraft defenses and 3 more important enemy targets.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
