Ukraine General Staff: 590 Russian troops killed in 24 hours

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.2022 to 27.06.2023 were approximately:

·            cruise missiles ‒ 1261 (+2),

·            warships / boats ‒ 18 (+0),

·            vehicles and fuel tanks – 6772(+21),

·            special equipment ‒ 563 (+6).

Glory to Ukraine! The four hundred and eighty-ninth day of large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against our state continues.

During the day, the Russian occupiers hit a cottage cooperative in the Kremenchuk district of the Poltava region with an Kh-22 cruise missile. In addition, the enemy carried out 20 airstrikes and launched more than 20 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas.

Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population and the destruction and damage of civilian infrastructure, high-rise buildings and dozens of private residential buildings.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on the Lymansky, Bakhmutsky and Marinsky directions – more than 10 combat clashes took place during the day.

On the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups.

The enemy maintains a military presence in the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions. He carried out mortar and artillery shelling of more than 20 settlements, in particular, Zareche, Tymonovichi of Chernihiv region; Seredyna Buda, Porokhon, Fotovizh, Velika Pisarivka in Sumy Oblast, as well as Udy, Kozacha Lopan, and Krasne Pershe in Kharkiv Oblast.

More than 20 settlements were also hit by artillery and mortar fire in the Kupian direction. In particular, Masyutivka, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka, Berestovka of the Kharkiv region.

More than 15 settlements were hit by artillery fire in the Lymansky direction, in particular, Nevske, Dibrova, Bilogorivka of the Luhansk region; Torske, Serebryanka, Spirne, Donetsk region.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position in the direction southeast of Ivanovsky.

Areas of more than 15 settlements were affected by enemy artillery shelling. In particular, Vasyukivka, Markove, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Ozaryanivka and Pivdenne of the Donetsk region came under fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy launched airstrikes in the Avdiivka area. He carried out artillery fire on more than 20 settlements. In particular, Keramik, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Yasnobrodivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske of the Donetsk region were shelled.

In the Marinka direction, the enemy carried out offensive actions in the Marinka area, without success. Carried out airstrikes near Maryinka and Krasnohorivka. At the same time, he carried out artillery shelling in the areas of more than 10 settlements. In particular, Illinka and Pobeda of the Donetsk region came under fire.

In the Shakhtarsky direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the direction of the village of Rivnopil. Carried out airstrikes in the Storozhevo district of the Donetsk region. Fired more than 15 settlements. In particular, these are Katerynivka, Elizavetivka, Bogoyavlenka, Blagodatne, Ugledar, Prechistivka, Zolota Niva of the Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the advance of our troops. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the districts of Orikhov and Novodanilivka of the Zaporizhzhia region. He carried out artillery fire on more than 40 settlements. Novodarivka, Olhivske, Poltavka, Malynivka, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Preobrazhenka, Orihiv, Pavlivka of the Zaporizhia region were affected; Zolota Balka, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Vesele, Antonivka, Kherson, Bilozerka, Dniprovske, Kizomys of the Kherson region and Ochakiv of the Mykolaiv region.

Continuing the armed aggression, the Russian occupying forces suffer daily losses. About 50 wounded occupiers were brought to the building of a kindergarten converted into a field hospital for the invaders, located in Novomykhailivka, Kherson Region.

Also, the enemy continues to convert civilian educational institutions in the temporarily captured territories of Ukraine into medical institutions. Thus, the occupiers turned the secondary school of Rozhivka settlement of Zaporizhzhya region into another military hospital. The constant transport of wounded invaders is noted.

During the day, the aviation of the defense forces made 12 strikes on enemy personnel concentration areas and 4 on enemy anti-aircraft missile complexes.

During the day, units of missile forces and artillery hit 1 control post, 2 Buk anti-aircraft missile complexes and 4 areas where the enemy’s manpower, weapons and military equipment were concentrated.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
