Ukrainian General Staff: 640 Russian casualties in 24 hours

Glory to Ukraine! The five hundred and sixty-second day of the russian federation’s large-scale armed aggression against our state continues.

During the day, 24 combat clashes took place. The enemy launched 10 missile strikes, 
60 air strikes, and fired 37 MLRS at the positions of our troops and populated areas.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy carried out an airstrike in the Bologivka area of the Kharkiv region. More than 15 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar fire, including Hasychivka, Bleshnya in Chernihiv region, Vyntorivka, Seredyna-Buda, Stari Virky, Veselovka, Grabovske in Sumy region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region. More than 15 settlements, including Krasne Pershe, Kamianka, Figolivka, Dvorichna, Kucherivka, and Tabaivka of the Kharkiv region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

At Lyman, the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks in the Novoyehorivka area of the Luhansk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes near Bilogorivka, Luhansk region, Spirnyi, Donetsk region. More than 15 settlements, including Nevske, Bilogorivka of Luhansk region and Verkhnyokamianske, Vesele, Spirne, Rozdolivka, Yampolivka of Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy attacked an air strike near Bila Gora, Donetsk region. More than 15 settlements, including Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, New York, and Northern Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled enemy attacks in the Avdiivka area of the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Novokalynove, Keramik, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne, and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the advance of russian troops in the Marinka and Novomykhailivka districts of the Donetsk region. Here, during the past day, our defenders repelled more than 10 enemy attacks. The enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka. About 15 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobyeda, Novomykhailivka, and Antonivka in the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the direction of Shakhtarske, the enemy carried out airstrikes near Urozhany, Staromayorsky and Novodarivka, Donetsk region. About 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Vugledar, Prechistivka, Zolota Niva, and Urozhane of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the direction of Zaporizhzhia, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the districts of Omelnyk, Malaya Tokmachka, and Robotyny of the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 
20 settlements, including Olhivske, Gulyaipole, Levadne, Mala Tokmachka, Pyatikhatky, Robotyne, Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy launched airstrikes near Kozatskyi, Odradokamyanka, Burgunka, and Tomina Balka. Antonivka, Kherson, Veletenske, Tomyna Balka of the Kherson region were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks.

At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, destroy the enemy and step by step liberate the occupied territories, have success in the area south of Robotynoy, and consolidate at the achieved boundaries.

During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces made 9 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 1 – on the positions of the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems.

1 ammunition depot, 9 artillery pieces, 6 control points, and 1 radio-electronic warfare station of the enemy were hit by units of missile troops and artillery.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
