Ukrainian General Staff:  850 Russian combat casualties in 24 hours, also 48 armored vehicles disabled or destroyed

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and eighteenth day of large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against our state continues.

During the day, 53 combat clashes took place. In total, the enemy launched 1 missile and 67 air strikes, carried out 40 attacks from MLRS systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged. Unfortunately, there are wounded among the civilian population.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

On the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the russian federation, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. About 20 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar attacks, among them Karpovychi, Yeline, Kostobobriv of the Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Volodymyrivka, Stepok, Sumy Region; Pletenivka, Vovchansk, Bologhivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults near Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kharkiv region, and Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region, where our soldiers repelled 
7 attacks. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the districts of Novoselyvka, Petropavlivka, Novoosynovo and Pischany of the Kharkiv region. Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestov in the Kharkiv region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Lyman direction. Carried out airstrikes in the districts of Proletarskyi, Kharkiv region and Serebryansk forestry, Siversk, Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements were also affected by enemy artillery and mortar attacks, among them Makiivka, Nevske, Belogorivka of the Luhansk region and Hryhorivka, Verkhnyokamianske, Torske, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy unsuccessfully tried 8 times to restore the lost position in the Klishchiivka area of the Donetsk region. The adversary also led unsuccessful assaults near Bohdanivka and Khromovoy in the Donetsk region. Carried out an airstrike in the Khromovo area of the Donetsk region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Bogdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Chasiv Yar of the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, conducted unsuccessful assaults in the areas of Stepove, Tonenke, Avdiivka, Severna, and Pervomaiske settlements of the Donetsk region. In total, the Defense Forces repelled 17 attacks here. The enemy also carried out an airstrike in the Avdiivka region of the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Marinka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assaults in the Marinka and Novomykhailivka districts of the Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repulsed 
14 attacks. The enemy also carried out airstrikes in Marinka and Novomykhailivka districts of Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements of the Donetsk region came under the artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers, in particular, Krasnohorivka, Pobyeda, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka.

In the Shakhtarske direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in Vodyanyi, Vugledar, Staromayorsky and south of Zolotya Niva districts of Donetsk region. About 10 settlements, in particular, Vugledar, Zolota Niva, Prechistivka, Blagodatne of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the occupiers unsuccessfully tried to restore the lost position in the Robotyny area of the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Gulyaipole, Charivne, Robotyne, Kamianske of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar fire.

On the Kherson direction, Kherson, Antonivka of the Kherson region and Solonchaky of the Mykolaiv region were hit by enemy artillery fire.

At the same time, the Defence Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, offensive (assault) actions in the Bakhmut direction, inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, and exhaust the enemy along the entire front line.

During the day, the aviation of the Defence Forces made 9 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and 2 – on the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems. In addition, the Air Defense destroyed 11 reconnaissance UAVs, 24 attack UAVs of the “Shahed-136/131” type and 1 Kh-59 missile of the enemy.

Units of the Missile Forces hit 7 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, an electronic warfare station, a radar station, 2 ammunition depots and 
10 artillery pieces of the enemy.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
