Ukrainian General Staff: About 1,260 Russian troops killed or wounded in 24 hours; 39 tanks or APC’s destroyed or disabled

Glory to Ukraine! Eight hundred first era of large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine began.

During the past day, there were 119 combat clashes.

In total, the enemy struck 5 rockets and 105 aviation strikes, carried out

91 shelling from reactive systems of volcano fire on the positions of our troops and settlements. As a result of the Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Destruction and damage were suffered by private and apartment buildings, objects of civil infrastructure.

At night, on May 4, 2024, Russian occupiers attacked 13-th assault bpla type “Shahed” and four C-300 anti-aircraft missiles. All launches were made from the Belgorod region. By the forces and means of air defense of Ukraine, 13 striking bpla was destroyed Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts.

During the past day, the settlements of Baranivka Sumy region suffered from air strikes; Borova, Kupansk Kharkiv region; Makiyivka, Nevsk, Bilogorivka Luhansk region; Spirne, Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, Lyman, Verkhnyokamianske, Spirne, Siversk, Ivano-Daryivka, Diliyivka, New York, Wolf, Kalinove, Zhelanne, Vesele, Novoselivka the First, Novooleksandrivka, Komyshivka, Karlivka, Bogoyavlenk a, Eugene, Urožayne, Staromayors ,ke Donetsk region; Robotine Zaporizhia region and Crinki in the Kherson region.

More than 110 settlements of Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts were under artillery fire.

In the Volyn and Polish directions, the operating environment remains without significant changes.

In the Siver and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts diversionary activities in order to prevent the transfer of our troops to threatening directions.

In the Kupiansky direction, our soldiers fought off 9 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Petropavlivka, Kislivka, Kharkiv region and Andriyivka, Stelmakhivka, Luhansk region.

In the Limans 7komu direction, 7 attacks committed by the enemy in the areas of makíííívka, nevs 7kogo and serebryans зkogo forestry in luhansk region and ternív and tors зkogo donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, our soldiers repelled 27 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bilogorivka Luhansk region and Novy, Klishchiyivka and Andriyivka in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiyiv direction, our defenders repelled 34 attacks in the areas of the settlements Arkhangelske, Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Novopokrovskke, Umanske, Netaylove and western Semenivka.

In the Novopavlivsk direction, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of the settlements of Krasnogorivka, Georgiyivka, Paraskoviyivka and Vodyane Donetsk region, where the enemy 16 times tried to break through the defenses of our troops.

In the Orekhiv direction, the enemy 5 times attacked the positions of our defenders in the area of Staromayorsk Donetsk region and Robotinogo in Zaporozhye.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy does not refuse the intention to knock out our units from placdarmív on the left bank of the Dnieper. Yes, in the past day there were 11 unsuccessful attacks.

At the same time, our soldiers continue to actively inflict losses in live force and equipment to the occupying troops, exhausting the enemy along the entire line of battle.

Over the past day, the Defense Forces has struck 13 personnel focus areas and 3 enemy control points.

Unions of the missile troops attacked 1 control point and 2 enemy artillery.

In total, last day total losses of Russian zagarbnikív amounted to 1260 people. Also, the enemy lost 12 tanks, 27 combat armored vehicles, 46 artillery systems, two RSVs, 2 anti-aircraft vehicles, 31 Bpla OTR, one rocket, 71 vehicles and 8 special equipment units.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
