Ukrainian General Staff: Russian troops sustained 610 casualties in 24 hours

The total combat losses of the enemy from 24.02.2022 to 06.09.2023 were approximately:

Glory to Ukraine! The five hundred and sixtieth day of the large-scale armed aggression of the russian federation against our state continues.

During the day, the enemy launched 10 missile strikes, 54 air strikes, and 31 MLRS fires at the positions of our troops and populated areas.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult. There were 26 military clashes.

On the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

On the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy launched an airstrike in the Granivy region of the Kharkiv region. More than 25 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar fire, including Gremyach of Chernihiv region, Velyka Pisarivka, Pokrovka, Ponomarenky, Chernatske of Sumy region, and Veterinatne, Gatyshche, Varvarivka of Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of Sinkivka, Kotlyarivka, Krokhmalny, Kharkiv region. Kolodyazne, Kislivka, and Berestov in Kharkiv region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Novoyehorivka, Luhansk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bilogorivka, Luhansk Region, and Vesely, Donetsk Region. More than 10 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar fire, including Nevske, Bilogorivka of Luhansk region and Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka of Donetsk region.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Donetsk region. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Khromovo and North Donetsk region. More than 15 settlements, including Orihovo-Vasylivka, Bila Gora, Bohdanivka, and Klishchiivka of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks. In turn, as a result of the assault actions, the Defense Forces have partial success south of Bakhmut, dislodge the enemy from the occupied positions and secure themselves at the achieved boundaries.

The defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the Avdiivka area. The enemy launched an airstrike near Avdiivka. More than 15 settlements, including Oleksandropil, Keramik, Nevelske, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Marinka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in the Marinka area of the Donetsk region. The enemy launched an air strike in the Krasnohorivka area. Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, Yelyzavetivka in the Donetsk region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

On the Shakhtarske direction, the enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Urozhany. More than 10 settlements, including Vugledar, Prechistivka, Shakhtarske, Zolota Niva, Blagodatne, and Urozhane of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the direction of Zaporizhzhia, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Robotyny of the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 10 settlements, including Olhivske, Levadne, Gulyaipole, and Chervone of the Zaporizhzhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Kherson direction, the enemy launched an air strike in the area of Olhivka. Kherson and Antonivka of the Kherson region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, destroy the enemy and step by step liberate the occupied territories.

During the day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces carried out 12 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and on the positions of the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems. 1 ammunition depot, 3 artillery facilities, 2 control points, 1 anti-aircraft missile complex and 2 areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment were hit by units of Missile troops and Artillery.

Forced displacement represents one of the most pressing humanitarian issues of our time. Individuals and families, torn from the fabric of their communities, find themselves navigating a world of uncertainty, often without basic necessities or a clear path to safety. There are currently some 110 million forced displaced, and this number is growing by 10 million each year!

At the heart of this crisis are the political triggers. Armed conflicts, ethnic or religious persecutions, and systemic human rights abuses force millions to flee their homes in terror. Many are displaced within their own national boundaries, while others seek asylum abroad. If these factors change as a result of political shifts at home or the pressures from abroad, they can return to their homes. Forced displacement is thus different from environmentally driven displacement, as victims of climate change may never be able to return to their homes.

The ramifications of any sort of displacement are profound, not just for those directly affected, but also for host communities and countries. Overburdened infrastructures, socio-economic strains, and cultural tensions can arise, necessitating comprehensive strategies to foster harmony and integration. Yet the root causes of forced displacement can be remedied with a concerted focus by local players and international diplomacy.

Organizations like Refugees International play a crucial role in this arena, advocating for the rights and needs of the displaced, conducting on-the-ground assessments, and influencing policymakers to take informed actions. Their relentless work underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency ofinternational cooperation. But they, too, are overwhelmed by the rapid expansion of the crisis.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL), with its core principles centered on the protection of civilians during conflicts, plays a pivotal role in this discourse. Yet, despite clear legal frameworks, compliance remains
inconsistent. This initiative emphasizes the importance of upholding and reinforcing these international standards.

It’s not just about recognizing the problem; it’s about active engagement. We urge governments, organizations, and individuals to prioritize the rights and needs of the forced displaced. Through collective efforts, informed policies, and sustained advocacy, we can shift the narrative from passive acknowledgment to proactive intervention.
